Once upon a time

Short:

Girl meets boy. Crazy in love. Happily ever after.

Long

In the summer of 2013 (only days before our wedding day) we fell in love with 600 square metres of loam and mud in the middle of nowhere.

Ever since we daydreamed about living in a nice, cozy house with our two cats, maybe 3 future children and a garden full of herbs. Conversations started like "When we grow up..." or "One day we will..."

Somehow none of us has ever really believed that "one day" might actually arrive. I mean, we lived in the center of a large town which is in middle of the biggest european urban center. And we loved it.

We loved being able to get groceries until 11 PM and even on sundays and holidays (nearly impossible in Germany). We loved living 5 minutes away from the next central station, 4 highways, the city center and just 12 minutes away from the next airport. We loved being able to be spontaneous concerning our leisure activities just because everything was so close.

We simple love our city lives.*

Nevertheless "one day" eventually arrived.

We are packing up our city life in boxes and prepare to do the grown up thing and move to Suburbia.

Feel free to follow along as I report the construction, our move and hopefully our adjustment in this new, wild territory of mini vans, gras sprinklers and playdates. Or even better: Join us! There's plenty of space in Nowhere!

* (I guess we didn't love our city life as much as the idea of having a huge project like building a house...)
